Full Of Emptiness Poem by Dorsey Baker

Full Of Emptiness

He had a hard time
being born
he remembers
himself coming out
as a very small
ball of flesh
he remembers the
demons of sickness
and how hard he fought
with them
he remembers
being a misfit
struggling with
the norms of society
he remembers
being hated
and hearing jokes
about his appearance
growing up
he never felt
accepted
or loved
no one to turn to
he turned to drugs
to drown out the pain
but drugs
have no impact upon
the emptiness
in never goes away!
