Fun And Games Played Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fun And Games Played

Unruly and doing this,
Behavior to choose.
Today's children can be empathized.
By the ones who realize,
Growing up in these times...
Is not an easy thing for a child to do.

Especially if it is known,
Their actions are condoned.
By parents unprepared and children too.
With minds confined; limited to just sit.
Believing themselves to eventually benefit,
From others they can depend upon...
To rush to assist and fix their problems.
Knowing how it is to live a life,
Seeking fun and games everyday to play.

But even those who had been children,
To grow up to be responsible adults...
And facing reality to give those deluded,
A swift kick in the butt.
Yet find this to do to choose,
Could result in a prison sentence.
Trying to prevent,
The children of today a life to experience...
Sitting behind bars.
For something wrong they chose to do.
As if permission to them had been given!
