Garbage On The Sidelines Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Garbage On The Sidelines

They stood by on the sidelines
Pointing at spectacle after spectacle.
Watching those parading and serenading
Taunts with gestures.
And when the street sweepers came...
Only then did they realize,
They were the trash to be hauled!
Garbage on the sidelines,
Had been declared eyesores.
Observing participation...
Was outlawed and long outdated!
