Gather The Storm Poem by Sven Rhoads

Gather The Storm

Rating: 5.0

Another day and there's so much hell ahead
I can't go back from once I came
My body continues to be beaten down
Until the legs that carry start going lame
But there is no quit, no smoke to replace the fire
I face you now with this broken frame
For every time you knock me back down
I will cry out 'remember my name'

I am the force that sheers your will to stand
The tremors that shakes the ground beneath you
I'll make your blood run cold and chill your spine
As I gather that storm to turn all the tides

You're only as strong as the numbers around you
When the sheep have fled what will you become
I am the wall of eternal defiance
When you find all your bluffing has been called

Let the rain wash the weakness away
Let the thunder drive the cowards from here
As the lightning strikes the very ground
You will find no haven for you tonight
Let the winds scream the battle cry
Let the chill soak into your bones
Beg for your dignity as the storm arrives
For the embodiment is right in these eyes
