Have mercy on the children of Gaza,
satiate their hunger with food
and provide them with necessities;
as they have no clean clothes to wear,
no bed to sleep, no water, no cleanliness;
the children in Gaza and Rafah
look so weak and hungry;
they stand in queues so helplessly
with plates and bowls in their hands
to get their food which is being prepared
in the makeshift kitchens on the streets.
The hungry kids look so famished
as they wait so patiently for some food
to fall in their platters and though it takes long,
their little eyes speak of so much pain
as no one seems to care about their plight
as everyone else out there is
in the same hardships as them;
and as these children wake up and sleep
in those refugee tents, they are so unhappy
yet they keep playing with each other
though they are so morose with hunger;
and while their mothers tell them stories
of their own war, they fall asleep
not understanding what is distress.
how long will they survive
when their stomachs keep crunching
with hunger and starvation?
how will children bear malnutrition?
how long will their endurance continue
if war does not cease?
and since bombs have damaged their homes,
they have no kitchen to get warm meals or milk;
how will these children endure such deprivation
when starvation keeps lingering on
making them so weak and undernourished?
And as hungry children of Gaza, Rafah crave for food,
the world must extend care and compassion to them;
and Arab nations must offer their solidarity
and support to the families and children
as Muslim fraternity is so full of generosity;
show empathy and help the children of Gaza, Rafah
as hunger is one thing children can never sustain.
