Gender Leave Taking Tears Poem by Terence George Craddock

Gender Leave Taking Tears

Rating: 5.0

women may embrace
privately publicly tears
flowing men a handshake

a quick hug or step back
choked with emotion show
no emotion a single tear

the odd tears
to remove or leave
if a tear there

or if embracing
an older man dying?
tears flowing

manly men do not embrace
indulge lightly in public shows
of emotion openly expressed
