Generation after generation
history and time
tell us
what they leave behind
Generation after generation
tell us
nothing is forever
we're here just a moment in time
Generation after generation
their youth just a whisper in the night
its gone before morning light
Generation after generation
some of them
change the world
and some of them
get changed instead
Generation after generation
they'll just be dirt
when they're dead
