Gentle Child In A Harsh World Poem by Norah Tunney

Gentle Child In A Harsh World

Rating: 5.0

Gentle child
in a harsh world
you had no doors
on your heart
to keep love out,
you felt the ache
of too much loving,
you could not stay
and you not keep running
among the shadows
and the fears.
Now all your pain has ceased
and you are with us
in the silence and peace,
gentle child in a harsh world
I remember the song we played for you,
and sometimes on starry nights,
I see you shining on a world,
'a world never meant for one as beautiful as you '

Very poignant portrayal indeed. To recreate the tragic atmosphere arising out of such an enormous loss weighs very heavy on the heart. We can understand your position, Norah. Now all your pain has ceased you felt the ache / of too much loving / Now all your pain has ceased

Such sadness so honestly penned. So sorry you had to write such a poem. A suicide is a terrible thing to store in your heart. It stays forever. Thank you for sharing this.
