Gentle Touch Of Love
Gentle touch of love hidden in your skies
Hit my waves of red
It made me who i am
It made whom i love
Gentle touch of love hidden in your skies
Hit me in the heart
It made my world so bright
It made the world so right
This is a sincere and total expression of gratitude. Love is the gift, and both giver and receiver are completely fulfilled. So as we read your poem, we enter a space of absolute content, which makes this moment a kind of foretaste of Heaven, however brief. The 2nd and 3rd stanzas deftly show the moral and spiritual benefits this love conveys. This is a gentle touch regarding emotions, it's not a poem of overwhelmingly powerful feelings but one of quieter persuasion. As such it is a necessary act of love, because we cannot always live at the fever pitch of so many poems by Hafez - well, he could but but we live complicated lives with many other pressures and demands. What runs through this poem is a promise to be faithful and loving over the long term of a relationship and not just those BIG MOMENTS which everyone recognizes but rather in the succession of days when we need a calmer, quieter reassurance, Yes you are my beloved and will always be.
