Genuine Gratitude Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Genuine Gratitude

To cross the path of life full of roses and thorns
we need help from people known and unknown.

I'm thankful to my faithful friends
who, without being asked, extend their helping hands.

They improve my life and touch my heart.
For their selfless service they deserve love and respect.

How to express my genuine gratitude?
Is it right to give only an intimate hug or touch their feet?

A mere handshake or 'thank you' with a smiling greet alone
will mingle in the dust of memory lane.

To be a little thoughtful is surely better
to keep rolling forever the helping nature.

There is no substitute to heartfelt gratitude.
Nothing can be better than lifelong servitude.

I'm grateful to my fervent foes
who inflict me with infinite woes.

They teach me to take risks in life
compelling me to face boldly limitless strives.

I dedicate all my successes to them
for instilling in me patience and optimism.

I'm thankful to 'me' for my success
in transforming my weaknesses to strength endless.

I write to 'me' an appreciation letter
that I stick on my looking mirror.

I have a date with 'me' for felicitation,
I spent time with 'me' in deep meditation.

I express gratitude to the Almighty with sincere prayer
for making me 'me' to make my life better and fuller.
