George Steiner Poem by Shaun Cronick

George Steiner

Rating: 5.0

George Steiner holocaust survivor aged 90 has sadly passed away...

We know that a man can read Goethe or Rilke in the evening,
That he can play Bach or Schubert.
And he can go to his day's work at Auschwitz in the morning.

How many George Steiners never left their " work" alive. And nobody cared! Thank you for remembering, feeling pity and writing this truthful homage. I salute you, dear, good Poet with grateful tears.

Thank you good Sandra for your sentimental comment for this great writer and essayist. I've read much of his work and always wanted to meet this incredible human being but alas not. Take care Sandra and I thank you again.
