Get Over You How? (Still Love You) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Get Over You How? (Still Love You)

Had my share of many but none come close to this one
Than been kissed, One night affair, and even caressed
Still there is nothing that compares to this
Yeah, I thought I found true love with the first
Which was only a puppy love and which I thought the world of you
Until you've let me go without saying just to be with another
I begin to hurt and hide my pain
And felt a sudden shame only to find it wasn't authentic
It took the third time, that was the charm
I wasn't looking for love but found it with someone new
For the first time I felt the touch
That would set my soul apart from any other that I knew
Than you wrapped you arms around me
for the moment I was in your world
Lost contact and my world became shattered with heartache and pain
Found our way back and I found love all over again
present to me your romantic nature
Like deja-vu I begin to lose myself there in your world
For the short period I thought we'd last
Until you left me, maybe you said your goodbyes
But I was blinded by love and tears begin to roll down my face
You were my first, you were my last
The only one I'll never get past
