Getting Sad News Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Getting Sad News

Getting news from one mentor about another mentor,
that he died unexpectedly, unexplainably, tears can-
not yet be found, it hasn't sunk in yet.

Thinking we had just been at a meeting a few weeks
ago only and now he's gone from our lives, no inkling
of him being sick at all.

So tired, wondering what happened to cause his death,
no answers coming to mind, his wife having died not
to long ago in her sleep.

Now my mentor/friend has died and gone to heaven to be
by her side, tears will eventually flow as memories
come crowding in.

Wanting to be recognized and expressed, life is so very
temporary, it will never be gotten used to when death
comes to each of us, ready or not to depart this earth.
