Ghost Poem by Isaac Abrahams

Ghost

at night they visited me
uninvited
yet invited
I tried chasing them away
but hard headed I found them to be
and into the day
they would followed me
washed the smile of my face,
they did
and the harder I tried
to ignore them
the stranglehold around my neck
tighter and tighter became,
till;
at last i had to accept,
drained of all my strength,
at night I could not fight them
and without choice
i myself had to draw them into daylight
their faces
with truth I had to lit
and confront them by name
each one
