Give Me A Heart Of Thankfulness
Give me a heart of thankfulness
For I know from whence I came
Drowning in sin up to my neck
Until I became born again
And O the wonder of it all
Your grace had been supplied
But it was not until I saw my need
That my faith in Christ was applied
What cleansing power of Jesus blood
Hallelujah for the Lamb
That doesn't require me to change my self
But to come just as I am
And receive a regal righteousness
In exchange for my filthy rags
Forgiven for my sin and rejoicing now
I raise a Hallelujah flag!
With the joy of the Lord and filled with glory
Thanksgiving comes naturally
For only a sinner who has received God's grace
Can live life abundantly
O my God how great Thou art
Your love more treasured than gold
My faith as the substance of things hoped for now
While the evidence is yet to unfold
With thanksgiving for Your faithfulness
Mercies new every morning for me
I cannot but arise and praise You Lord
So thankful for Calvary
For there my sins full debt was paid
His blood my receipt in full
Praise God You honor a repentant heart
And make praises to overflow!
Hallelujah for that Cross of Christ
They nailed Him there in a fashion
But unbeknown to the most of men
He was hanging there with a passion
Our soul's at stake such as we knew not
He did not take sin lightly
But took our wrath the brunt of it all
The wrath of God Almightg
For the joy that was set before Him
He endured the Cross for me
For in three days He would rise again
Jesus Christ! ...God! ...Deity! ...
What's there not to be thankful for
Our Life...praise God...our Resurrection
Who took the terror of sin in our lives
To bring us to perfection!
Hallelujah what a Saviour!
