Give Me A Reason Poem by Lacie Hebert

Give Me A Reason

It came when least expected
I had given up all hope
Tempted by the struggles and pain
I eventually turned to the dope

So one night I prayed to God
Answers were all I'd asked to be given
Told him I was afraid to love again
Asked him to give me a reason worth living

As time went on my addiction grew
Until one day it was clear to me
I can't depend on someone to show me
Something only my eyes could see

So a few days later my phone would ring
It was the voice I waited to hear
My ex was on the other side saying
Come back to me my dear

A little patience and prayer
Was all that I was giving
And now my life is back to normal
And I've got my reason worth living
