Give Me Life Poem by Timothy Lee Hollandsworth Jr.

Give Me Life

Rating: 4.8

Dear God,
It's me again. I know it's been awhile.
It seems that it always is. I know I only ask for your love
When it is convenient for me. I know I don't always return the favor.
God, I know it's been awhile, but I hope now in my time of need
That you don't forget about me.

Give me life
Let me be free
Give me life
Let me have liberty

I know I've done some wrong in my time
But please listen, this isn't my crime.
Don't send me to death row
Don't send me where I cannot go.
I am at the mercy of men
God, I hope your judgment is better than them.
Love me
Feel me
Breathe me

Give me life
Let me be free
Give me love
Let me have liberty

They've got me signed up for the guillotine,
Themis with your blind eyes so keen
Deliver Justice unto me.
God, this will be the last time I pray
In just a few moments I will be on my way.
Dear God, this is my last day alive.
Love me,
Feel me,
Breathe me.
