Give No Glory To War Poem by Raymond Farrell

Give No Glory To War

Give no glory to war
Though it may be necessary sometimes
How can we possibly glorify war
For war years are the worst of times.

A more absurd attempt to resolve
The disputes between mankind
(Bidding man to kill man en masse)
Nowhere else can you find.

This marching to celebrate past victories
Must be tempered by remembering the cost
The wanton destruction, wasted resources
Lives displaced, and lives lost.
