There will be a day and it is nigh,
when we'll no more drown in sorrow
when eyes are not pregnant clouds, trying to empty themselves of their pain, sadness, and longing to no avail

On that day we'll be singing
Glory be
Glory be unto our God for He liveth
We'll sing
Glory be
Glory be unto our God for He snatched us from the nest of gloom

On that day we'll laugh and we'll dance then laugh some more
Our lips will we turned up in smiles
as we sing
Glory be
Glory be unto our God for He saves

And even as sorrow covers our hearts with soot
We're hopeful
We are confident that soon we'll sing
Glory be
Glory be unto our God for He holds us up
