Go Home Poem by Rokket Grrl

Go Home

I remember sunsets on a salty ocean
Twisting and turning, swelling with commotion
And I think of glistening sea shells laying in the sand
And i remember your soft voice while you were holding my hand
My mind races back to thoughtful words that were often said
And to all the open waters that flowed into my head
With head full of water and heart full of sand
I somehow found a way to think you were my man

But of course I was wrong like every other time
I talked myself into thinking you were actually mine
But soon you drifted away like a message in a bottle
Going against the current with one single paddle
You disappeared into the mist and the open sea
Moving too quickly, far away from me
Now I'm stuck on this island all alone
But now without you I just want to go home
