God Gave His Eternal Word

God gave His eternal Word
To express His eternity
What some of us measure as real life
Is a thought of futility
Here today gone tomorrow
And never to rise again
Is what most of them think dearly of
Such is the folly of men

Eat...drink and be merry
Their philosophy in gear
Off they go to the pleasures of sin
Whose season will soon disappear
With God constantly on the sidelines
He's watching it over all
Waiting for that realization
When they get their wake up call

Some will catch the truth of it
When their pleasures lose their lust
The emptiness of broken promises
In the one's in whom they put their trust
Then the yearning for relief
O where..O where will I turn
Then a cry out to God above
Whose love they initially spurned

Praise You heavenly Father
Your love abounds in grace
Swift to forgive each erring one
Who seeks the Master's face
And praise You for an eternity
With Whom we can spend our days
In the presence of a living God
Who loves to change men's ways!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
