God Had To Come

God had to come and no one else
To deliver us from our sin
For He who made us from the dust
Knew of our wicked heart within
And how far short was our strength
To set us again alright again
So He came down in humbleness
To provide Salvation for men

He became the sacrifice
By the which we can be saved
And showed Himself as Lord of all
But His rising from the grave
The gospel still the world's best news
Repent and you shall live
God was in Christ at Calvary
What love that He did give

God had to come...He the Word
And He the Word became as flesh
To identify with His own creation
With the sole purpose to bless
For He is not willing that any should perish
But that all should come to Christ
And savingly believe in the glorious gospel
For He paid sin's ransom price!

He came as our fount of blessing
No other fount has such cleansing
Forgiven by the shed blood of Christ
Instantaneously upon our confesson
That though as sinners we deserved Your wrath
You've placed it all upon Your Son
Praise You Lord...praise You Father...praise God You have come!
