God Is Missing Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

God Is Missing

Let me tell you a story
Please listen to it carefully
Since God is missing
Let us not miss its meaning
There were two children
One of eight and another of ten
Parents of them were very worried
Because they were mischievous and wicked
Any mischief occurred in their town was incomplete
If the entanglement of their tender hands was absent
So being upset parents thought and thought
Until they found a clergyman who could do his best
To discipline them sternly but calmly
So to see him boys were asked individually
To meet one by one with the turn of eight-year old first
"Oh, my little boy, sit down before me without angst
And answer what I ask you simple and good
Oh, do tell me "Where is God? "
Came no reply with boy's eyes glowing with concern and wonder
So the clergyman repeated the question in a tone little sterner
See I am asking you and only you "Where is God? "
This time also to answer no attempt was made by the lad
So the clergyman more and more raised his voice
And shook his fingers in the boy's face
Asking for the last time to answer "WHERE IS GOD? "
"WHERE IS GOD? " AND "WHERE IS GOD? "
At that the boy bolted from the room
And fled directly to his home
Slamming himself in his closet sat mute and silent
Following him his older brother into the closet
Asked him in fear and panic "What happened? "
Oh, my brother "we are in big trouble now and
Nothing could save us from capital punishment
As GOD IS MISSING and they think we did it"
