God Monitors

God monitors every heart
In regards to its thoughts and deeds
Determining the sincerity thereof
In the meeting of other men's needs
He knows of its motivation
Whether it's for ill or for good
And judges our actions accordingly
Such is the fine resoluteness of God

We are held accountable
To what some would seem as trite
The good Lord constantly watching
And weighing whether it's right
Not one action of any kind
Goes unnoticed by Him
Woe to them found in the balances
Of a tendency prone to sin

Our heart is the seat of affection
Or of affliction if you please
Determined by the master of it
Who promotes what determinesits deeds
O for a heart of a loving Father
Who shows us itself in the Son
Who has our best interestalways at heart
Determined that God's will will be done

I love that Christ can bring change
To a heart bent on stubbornness
When it finds in the truth of God's Word
Of the Saviour's willingness to bless
How sin can bring a bondage
In a life to take such effect
That it has little regard for others
And no time to truly reflect

I pray dear Lord that you would draw our hearts
To seek the things of the Lord
To be alert to the Holy Spirit
In His working through the Word
That they might be in a mode of service
Praise God for a servant hood
That not only seeks to satisfyit's own needs
But as well seeks to do others good!

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
