God Took A Vacation On Me

So incessant was the flow of cool water from the holy lake
That I believed it will never go dry
I could fill up all buckets of all sizes with no mud but pure water
I even forgot I will ever go thirsty
I forgot God exist
And suddenly I realised there was no need to pray
Flaunting my blessings became my main chore
So blind in heart, mind and eyes,
That I even couldn’t see the change of colour
The rich and beautiful colour of the rose flower
Becoming faint and dull
Let alone the dry and fall to the ground
The show would go on nevertheless with me on the crown
The enjoyment up there so great I could not feel the sag
I couldn’t even detect the flashlight in the midst of the merry go round
That God has taken a vacation on me
Like a baby my care was in the air
Often destined for His protective hands
Alas! The fall was hard
When I hit the hard ground all the signs of slow decent
Resurfaced in my mind
I could see all the people that meant nothing to me
The hungry, the sick, stupid and deranged, gaunt and forlorn
Suddenly they started giggling at my sight from ear to ear
I could see, they seem to enjoy all the things I had
Now in their possession!
