Going Back To See Her Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Going Back To See Her

Rating: 5.0

Suddenly reminiscing, you and our love
Get a kick, I, feeling wonderful
You and I, when in our shining teens
I loved you and you loved me, head over heal

What a bond, we were held tied with
For a decade I ‘n you, glued tightly two together
All dreams, so sensational and memorable
dreamt, I, in your warmth, were fascinating, but real

Enchantment and passion I lusted with
Through the love you extended, heart ‘n soul
How we parted with, with tears down pouring
So sad to remember, even now so late

Not a day in our memoir, found sorrowful
Amidst numerous ups and downs along life terrain
Hurdles I'd overcome, in the race I ran
Pay tribute to the past ‘o ours sweet and immortal

After few decades since we detached ‘n departed
feel heavenly, yet, looking back on good old days
Befalling a sweet reunion in heart and mind
I come flying soon, to hug in showering warmth ‘o yours

I owe every thing in me to you, for our love
the shaping and molding ensued in me by you
The day I breath the last, like a man of nobility
I whisper your name in pride, my Alma Maître

This is a nice tribute poem shared here about emotion and memory gained in the institution last attended in the past. Enchantment and passion used with remain with love and perfection. Shaping and molding ensued in you reflect memorable lovable sequences. This tribute to your Alma Mater is excellent in this poem...10

Initially I thought that this poem was about your mate and your teen days of love which got consummated through wedlock. Only after reading the last two stanzas and seeing the image of the institution, I understand it is about your Alma mater! Most of us feel the same sentiments for the institution in which we spent the prime years of life and which shaped our career. A beautiful tribute!
