Going Crusty Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Going Crusty

I reach for pad,
I reach for pen,
I put my Mind in gear,
I wait for words to come to mind,
From near or from the hemisphere.

I wish to write,
I need to write,
But thoughts are somewhat musty,
Have I over-taxed my brain?
Am I going crusty?

Muddled ideas come to mind,
Can I make sense of them?
I put my pen within my hand,
And let the words into lines blend.

The cogs within my brain do ease,
They move more slowly now,
I trust that in the coming days,
Into a higher gear my brain will go.
And the muse will return to me anew,
So again I can write poems for you.
