Good-Bye To Summer Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Good-Bye To Summer

Rating: 5.0

The flickering of sunlight is captured in tree branches
As a solitary passerby pauses to linger in the shade
Intentions are suspended in a moment of introspection
All the drab demands of the day have willfully strayed

A cool Autumn breeze rustles the multicolored leaves
Summer months are exiting with radiance…reluctantly
A crimson leaf breathes it's last breath and descends
Spiraling dizzily… drifting lazily…landing ever so gently

Signaling a transformation… leading a colorful parade
Swirling leaves stir awareness into wakeful reflections
The sound of footsteps upon the crackle of passing time
remind that seasonal sleep will be followed by resurrection
