Good fortune can bless a fool
Who doesn't act surprised?
And harbour discord in you.
Who has worked for a prize?
Riches can fall into unworthy laps.
Who doesn't have the company of respect?
And waterfront a storm in you perhaps
But why be the architect?
Of another's misfortunes
When your wealth is still the flagship in the port
That hasn't sailed to arms.
When your battle is won
Your prize will be worth your sorrows.
But will your prize always be worth your unmet goals?
When your battle is won without your bleeding stripes
Don't be surprised if there isn't a tear in another's eyes.
And discord still harbours in you.
Because good fortune can bless a fool.
But what does it mean if you
Don't have a thread of empathy to light up the dark.
Don't have a heart and soul.
