Goodbye Poem by Warren Augustus de Guzman

Goodbye

Rating: 5.0

Prose has overtaken Poetry.
Logic has outdone art.
The senses have no say.
The soul sighs in dismay.

Words no longer entertain.
They merely inform.
Sharp tongues of clever wit..
Lay blunt and unused.
The senses have no say.
The soul sighs in dismay.

Rhythm and Rhyme have been replaced...
by Economy and Vocabulary.
Fallen from the ranks of artistry...
to the Conventional Constabulary.
The senses have no say.
The soul sighs in dismay.
