Goodbye - Poem by Sayeed Abubakar

If today becomes the last day
and if I die
before I say
forgive me then,

Forgive, o Sun.
Forgive, o Moon.
I could not understand
I have to go so soon.

Goodbye, all men.
Goodbye, all birds.
Goodbye, children,
farmers, shepherds.
