Goodbye Poem by Viola Grey

Goodbye

Rating: 4.4

So pure, white, cold,
solid to fingertips.
Warmth exudes his touch
but freezes on contact.
Breath expels vapour
as he sighs - 'Goodbye'.
Towards another lover
she embarks upon the night,
leaves refuse to scatter,
footfalls remain silent.
No words yet uttered
still he feels her kiss -
'So long, heated embrace,
I walk on...forever'.
The room suddenly heats.
He stands, again, alone.
