Goodbye To Here Forever Poem by Francis Duggan

Goodbye To Here Forever

Goodbye to here forever my future is elsewhere
I'm moving further Inland I'll be a stranger there
Here I am not a Local and here I'm not to stay
A smaller Town awaits me five hours down the highway.

Goodbye to here forever and the coastal lands by the sea
The bug of the wanderlust is still living in me
I am bound for the blue stone country and a small rural town
Far from the nearest city surrounded by paddocks wide and brown.

Goodbye to here forever I've lived here for six years
The change will only do me good I feel no urge for tears
Perhaps the change of scenery me will invigorate
And I can hardly wait now for my departure date.

Goodbye to here forever 'tis time that I moved on
And tears will not be shed for me when from here I have gone
I have lived here for six years perhaps that is too long
The bug of the wanderlust is in me and my urge to move is strong.
