Goodbye to this world which gave my form
As human being and not a worm!
Goodbye to this world with plants so green;
I’m happy with whatev’r, I had seen;
Goodbye to the air, water and soil;
They are polluted, despite my toil;
Goodbye to the joys, sorrows and pain;
I’m glad they can’t trouble me again;
Goodbye to the pangs of hunger, sex,
And problems that can all earthlings vex;
Goodbye to the earthly love, greed, hate,
And emotions that never abate;
Goodbye to affluence, pelf, chaos;
Births, deaths, wars, crimes, suffering and loss;
Goodbye to good deeds, vices and sin;
To friends and foes, strangers, kith and kin;
Goodbye to the sun and moon and stars-
Which never bear ill-will or cause wars;
Goodbye to the beasts and birds that fly;
The Milky Way and cloudy, blue sky;
Goodbye to the world of scams and fraud;
I’m glad I found my one, living God;
Goodbye to my fears, desires all;
I’m lucky to heed my Maker’s call;
Goodbye to the nice earth which God made;
Man spoilt it doing what, God forbade!
We feel like saying 'Goodbye' to everything, but we are tied up so much in this world of attachment, we are unable to say 'Goodbye.' One way of tackling this problem is to detach oneself with body consciousness and attach oneself with the God consciousness. A very good poem.
Very good writing Doctor, Really enjoyed your piece of litererary art. Keep up the good work. Carol
