Goodbye To Time And Space Poem by Jade Leven

Goodbye To Time And Space

I finally closed the blinds
so that my wandering eyes
wouldn't find the neighbors' joyful Christmas lights
sometimes I mention details
and I think I must be out of my head
but I think every word has value
and every phrase deserves to live

the places that I've been amaze me
how different L.A. is from New York City
a house in the suburbs makes me forget my name
because 3 out of 4 people here are exactly the same
an old country home in the middle of nowhere
makes me feel like no one will ever know or care
although it's nice one in a while to feel so small
I'd miss traffic and concerts and telephone calls

I finally turned the music down
so I could hear my thoughts drifting around
on a subway ride in Tokyo
I found out that I love him, but he'll never know
I'm feeling restless, and the sound of my pen on the paper brings me back down
from my longing for another chance with him
and my fantasy of the city sounds
