Gourmet Jelly Beans - Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A clever person with spare time it seems…
contrived a tasteful concept for making
sensational treats… gourmet jelly beans
There are so many flavors for the partaking

Each uniquely designed morsel expresses
a story to be told, starting with its color
A rainbow array tempts curious guesses…
musing is required from the connoisseur

Here is a pink one… I'll bet it is strawberry
or bubble gum… a sour zing reveals grapefruit
Let's try another… red surely will be cherry
Wow, the rapid rush of cinnamon spice is acute

One thing that has become evident...
speculation can deceive when it come to taste
Sometimes when our sight send signals...
confident conclusions suddenly can be erased
