Graduation Day - Poem by Tea Kawana
I liked graduation day
I think I liked it from the beginning,
even though I still had an exam.
It wasn’t that I could not wait for the night
to see everybody all dressed up, not even for the food.
I don’t know…that day had in itself something.
It wasn’t that much of a busy day for me.
Perhaps it was the simplicity of rest before a big occasion
like waking up in the morning to brush one’s teeth.
Yet, I don’t know…
I felt good about myself that day;
I wasn’t too over-joyed or excited,
I felt good.
