Grandeur Of Excellence Poem by George otto Becker

Grandeur Of Excellence

Upon all soil
Beneath all skys
We reside

Born unto this earth are we
With sand in our toes and our hair does wave in the wind so fair
We walk along the land as free as the wind and the moon

When did we forget we were free
Was it when they created those cities
When they forced us inside and took our dignities

Forcing us to labor
And appointing other men to punish those who did not comply
To take away our liberties and destroy mens families

And when resources were low
They forced us to war
To protect thier company store

When will it end
The greed and capitalism
Where slaves are born and moguls are making families scorned

I believe that I was born to be free
to smell the fresh cut grass on the soles of my feet
The oceans salty spray in my face

This grandeur of excellence is given to all men
Long before we were governened by them
Live your lives in true freedom
