Grateful One Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Grateful One

Rating: 1.0

I do not wonder why,
Things are the way they are.
They are the way they are!
And I don't wonder why.

I do not sit with wishes,
That events could turn out differently.
Or reminisce in 'what ifs'...
Of 'that' which should have been done.
Especially if I've been empowered,
To pursue a choice that has been made.
With regrets I should have left alone...
Like some frozen in a time zone!

I have known for quite some time...
Whatever happiness I have,
Is happiness that is mine!
And I don't wonder why that is!
It 'is' as it is.
And I am the grateful one!
