Grateful To Be Alive Poem by james watkin

Grateful To Be Alive

Who is this humbly accepting
But he whose unlikely fortune
In leaping this dangerously near
Learns of life's irretrievable fear!

Not til which jaws of an engulfing
Opened up a dying man's view
Had such for a free-aired birthright
Ever the need, breathless, to fight.
