Great Poem

Talk is not of Adam;
-the manufactured man
-imposed
-to be our father…

Talk is of a poet,
-of Adam Scheffler!

For today, unreal
-supreme, wonderful,
-is; doubtless!

Poetic, his bird's eye;
-possibly, of eagles,
-wide vision, accurate;
-his writing delicate,
-of a bus passenger
-wandering and lost with
-dementia, Alzheimer.

The subject tries hard,
-tries to remember
-the face of his mother
-long gone, dead…

She was not a cartoon
-scratched by a kid
-on the wall of dreams…

She was there and real;
-but he can't remember!

The poet can account;
-so, he counts blackbirds,
-and watches a bald man
-galloping with sadness,
-and also
-the TV screen inside a hospital
- (Emergency-waiting-room.)

Great is the poster he sketched.
