Growing The Ego Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Growing The Ego

Rating: 5.0

Ego is a plant to be watered
When young, and pruned when branching too many,
And topped when taller and uprooted
When too old, to manage the life cycle.

Interesting concept of ego, it is a glaring one when young and immature, yet when older and wiser, we manage to remove much of it's life, it's called maturity. We replace our egos with a conscience and compassion that's far-reaching and mellow in our old age. No longer needing to be seen, praised and looked upon. Very thought provoking poem. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
