Guest Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Guest

Guest

He sent me a message:
"I do seek your pardon! "

I left it as we do
With the things unwanted.

Talking films? Is great
But naive by nature.

Came to me as my guest
Gave him keys and my bed
On ground I slept…

I was raised in culture:
"The guest is God's friend."

By that rule I saw him…

Had set time for meeting
Sometime in afternoon…

Suddenly text message"
"Wait for me, will be late, "
Another came, delayed
Kept coming the changes
Finally a no show…

At home I found letter:
"I left you to be with
Relatives, old friends! "

The key too he had left
With someone strange…

His message is worth shit
Let him go to those who
He chose and preferred.

Value of the people
Is weighed by their friends…

So he is not welcome;
Forgiven yes but not
Ever in my life, heart!
