Had You Stayed Poem by Stan Rodriguez

Had You Stayed

Rating: 5.0

I would have slain a dragon for you
in my youth
when fairy tales were the reading
of the day.

I would have built me wings
to fly the wind
and bring you star dust
for your hair

I would have swum the oceans
for a chain of pearls
to see your smile
make envious
the whiteness of their stone

I would have done a million things
and more
had you stayed
to sing my song.
