Haitian People, Open Your Eyes Poem by Hebert Logerie

Haitian People, Open Your Eyes

Haitian people, open your eyes
To see what's happening in all holes
In all corners of Haiti, your country
Things are hot and big, nothing is small
Do not sell your votes to crooks
Do not sell your future to bastards
Be careful. Do not take bad advice
Do not let traitors sit on the high chair
As you know, many predators are fighting for it
Open; open your eyes to defend Haiti
Let's not talk trash, this is no joke
Let's be serious, countless lives are in danger
Ignore the pretenders who try to act like gods
Who make promises that they cannot keep
Haitian people, open your eyes and your ears
Do not blink your eyes, so you won't fall asleep
Don't drink rums that can hypnotize or zombify you
Let's be vociferous: down with the bloodsuckers, the thieves
Who are crazy.Down with all hypocrites, all highway robbers
Let's chase the traitors, the corrupt, the wasps, and the leeches.
