Half Of Us Poem by Jalyn Jones

Half Of Us

A half heart I have now, what did you do to me?
blinded by lies that you have sent through to me,
I don't want to cry, but what can I do you see?
When hatred and love make up our anatomy.

We only have so long with ones we can cherish,
before time consumes loves and those we love perish.
Still there is no true end with people we care,
for when so much was gained, there's so much to share.

As what has brought us together slowly abates,
this pain is not something I wish to replace.
Though affects of attrition force us to ask how?
I will hold us together half then and half now.
