Hallo Muddah, Hallo Faddah! Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Hallo Muddah, Hallo Faddah!

Childhood memories

left out
in the rain

inventing himself

pictures in the mind's eye

a feeling about the sense

sadness and loss
in a 'shadow life'.

The curtain...comes down.

This is a 'cut-out' as popularised by William Borroughs where one takes any old newspaper or magazine and cuts out randomly words that appeal to the subconscious and then consciously try to get these lost words to find themselves in some sort of sense or whatever. The mind is led by the words this time rather than the words being led by the mind...what happens is...anyone's guess. And that's the fun of it!
