Happy Birthday, Devoe L. Moore Poem by James McLain

Happy Birthday, Devoe L. Moore

The years have turned like golden leaves,
Soft drifting down through time's embrace,
Yet steadfast stands a man of might,
With vision clear and quiet grace.

Through hands that shaped both land and dream,
Where rivers wound in restless flight,
He forged new paths with steadfast faith,
And turned the dark to boundless light.

A listener first, with purpose deep,
Who heard the whispers of the land,
And shaped the waters, creeks, and streams,
With wisdom placed in careful hands.

For nature bends, yet does not break,
Beneath the will of those who see,
That change can build, and change can heal,
And set both man and earth both free.

A legacy like mountain peaks,
That touch the clouds yet stand secure,
A life well lived, with heart so pure,
A name that time will long endure.

Now eighty-seven years have shone,
Upon a path both wide and bright,
DeVoe L. Moore, through work and will,
Has filled the world with lasting light.

Happy Birthday, Devoe L. Moore
