In the back of my senile mind,
reclined in serenity, talking to myself
recalled a birthday celebration
some years ago, on a 30th September
With the fondling of tiny fingers of yours
We wrapped up some food in to packs
Handed them over by same hands
to a bunch of handicapped kids, like you
I remember you giving out toys to inmates
and the way you enjoyed kids’ sing-song
Still, I wouldn’t know whereabouts of them, now
Since we fed them, on your first birthday
Orphanage is still running there, same way
Should be with a different set, inside
I ‘ll feed a similar lot some where else this time
As you pass 37th post in life, on an alien soil
Your gesture to give out in loving kindness
Have, no doubt, helped you to be what you are
We, from home, wish you health, happiness, and peace
Upon Invoked blessings of Triple Gem to you and yours
This is an ideal way of celebrating a birthday! At least on some special occasions we shall share a little of what God has generously given us with the less fortunate of our brethren! For a child, celebrating his birthday with children of the orphanage will remain a great memory with him and will teach him the lessons of compassion! A beautiful write and a kind gesture!

Great! so warm! My birthday is on 29 September and I'm 36 - so I read it as for me personally! so pleasant! food, wishes, kisses!
Thank you Liza. This was written for my eldest son, who is in Sydney, Aus. Yours is just one day earlier. Still, it's valid for you too. I am more than happy to extend it to Russia as well.
