Happy Days Remembered. Poem by Michael Cochrane

Happy Days Remembered.

Shopkeepers that knew your name, and sold you sweets by the jar for tuppence!

Taking a run on the old double decker bus, the clippy with the banter and humorous jokes!

Catching small fish from the pond with your net!
Eating sandwiches on the beach as Mother poured tea.

Looking out the windows of the train watching for the sea!
No distractions then, complete strangers making conversations.
Imagine!
No one with heads bowed looking down wearing headphones!
Long summer days and happier people, less stressed, less hurried, a slower pace of life.
